Jacob Foutz already has accomplished a “first” in his Elite Series rookie season. When he finished 21st on Day 2, it marked his first top 47 cut. The 23-year-old from Charleston, Tenn., feels right at home on Chickamauga Lake. As a member of the Bryan College bass fishing team, Foutz won the 2018 College Bracket and earned a spot in the Bassmaster Classic. Bryan College is located here in Dayton, the host city for this tournament.
Foutz is making a bid for Championship Sunday. He caught a 4-pounder at 11:18 that gave him 11 pounds for 4 fish, and he’s moved up to 15th in the BassTrakk standings.
