Following Pipkens

I’m on Chad Pipkens this morning.

He started the day in fourth place and has since fallen out of the top 10. But I don’t think there’s a cause for concern on his part, not yet.

He didn’t catch his first keeper until 9:07 am yesterday. Then exactly an hour later he caught his second. It took him until noon to scratch out a limit and then later in the day the bigger bites started showing up, including a 5-pound class fish about 2 pm.

It goes without saying the verdict is still out on whether his timeline stays the same.

He’s fishing a tiny island and the eddy behind it. I’m not sure if there are rocks or other cover but you can see the current rolling over it.

As soon as I type that, which is usually the case, Pipkens boats his first keeper. He’s a long way but it had some heft to it.

We will wait to see what BassTrakk says. But I’m guessing close to 3 pounds.

The timeline has moved up an hour.
