Just like yesterday, the fish catches are rolling in on the BASSTrakk Twitter feed. Todd Faircloth was first on the leaderboard with a 3 1/4-pounder at 7:25 a.m.
Keith Combs was a good example of how important (and then, weird) the early bite was. Combs caught a 4-pounder right off the bat.
“I thought it was going to be a great day,” Combs said. “Then I went about five hours without a bite.”
He was hardly the only angler who experienced a long lull in the action. Leader Jason Christie went from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. without a bite. Combs finally had a flurry at the end of the day that gave him a 12-14 limit, which put him in 19th place.
