Feider thought he had a catfish

Seth Feider was anything but optimistic when he started on Lake Fork this morning. He had what he described as a “terrible, terrible” practice – catching only three bass over three days weighing a total of 6 pounds, he said.

But he found a big bite – two, in fact – on a shallow point this morning, something he hadn’t tried during practice. On “Bassmaster LIVE” Feider explained that the first bass, a 5-2, came about 6 or 7 feet deep on a point. Then the big one bit as he cast his crankbait further up the point in 4 1/2 feet of water.

“I thought it was a catfish the whole time,” Feider said, “so I was horsing it the whole time. It straightened out two of my treble hooks because I was an idiot, horsing it.”
Feider appears to be anything but an idiot now. Those two bass gave him 14-11 at 8:30. So he’s going to keep “bebopping” around Lake Fork and see what else he can find that he didn’t see in practice.
