Seth Feider can drop all the way to 69th place, miss the Day 2 cut and still officially seal the 2021 Bassmaster Elite Series Angler of the Year title today. He hasn’t come close to missing the Day 2 cut all year, and it’s safe to say he won’t do it today, not after catching 22 pounds and finishing fifth yesterday. Plus, Feider caught a 3 1/2-pounder in the first 30 minutes today.
“I’m off to a real good start,” Feider said this morning. “I’ve only got one, but it’s one I can weigh-in.”
Feider’s average finish in the previous eight tournaments is 13.6th place. In order, his performances were as follows: St. Johns River, 3rd; Tennessee River, 29th; Pickwick Lake, 25th; Sabine River, 6th; Lake Fork, 6th; Lake Neely Henry, 12th; Lake Guntersville, 24th; Lake Champlain, 4th. It’s potentially the best season in Elite Series history, depending upon how Feider finishes here.
