Expect a shakeup on the leaderboard

It appears the Day 1 leaders are off to a good start today, for the most part. But you'll see a bunch of high-risers and low-fallers in the standings at the end of the day. It's just the nature of a tidal fishery. Consistency is hard to come by.

Brent Ehrler was shocked that he caught the fourth place bag of 15-15 yesterday, and he was less than confident he could do it again today.

"I learned a couple of things today, but I don't know if it's anything I can duplicate or not," Ehrler said after weighing in. "I never once had a flurry. In tidal fishing, you almost always have a flurry, and I never did."

The Delaware River tidal fishery of a year ago is a good example of the inconsistencies that are common. Boyd Duckett caught what would become the big bag of the tournament on Day 1 – 16-14 – but had only 6-7 on Day 2. Mike Iaconelli went from 21st (9-2) to first with 15-1 on Day 2.

Two anglers in contention for Angler of the Year this year – Jacob Powroznik and Justin Lucas – saw their fortunes change in two days at the Delaware, as well. Powroznik went from 61st (4-1) to 26th (10-11). Lucas went the opposite direction, from 14th (9-12) to 46th (1-13).

You'll see plenty more risers and fallers in the standings after Day 2 on Chesapeake Bay.
