Evers has been sharing water all morning. We’ve seen Casey Ashley, Greg Vinson, Keith Poche and Cliff Crochet all buzz in and back out in the last hour or more.
Evers has seen them too. He remarked that he was going to go through an area where five boats have gone through and not caught anything.
He also mentioned he had a 4 pm check in so he wasn’t overly worried at the lack of action.
While we were discussing that with a few other things mixed in, he hooked up with a fish that put a big bow in his rod before coming unbuttoned.
At that point, all conversation ceased. And Evers’ demeanor went back to the intensity he’s known for.
“Okay, I’ve got to fish,” he said before slipping back into intense mode.
He may not be worried but it’s obvious he’s serious about backing up last year’s BassFest championship with another win.
