Evers battling a murders row

2016 Classic champ Edwin Evers starts Day 2 in 5th place with 22-11. He’s got a murders row in front of him with Chris Lane in 4th, Hank Cherry in 3rd, Rick Clunn in 2nd, and Kevin VanDam at the top with about a four and a half pound lead.

This morning Steve Bowman and I are covering Evers. We’ve covered him several times in the past year, and when he smells a chance at victory I believe he gets better and more intense.  You’ll recall he had back to back wins last year at Kentucky Lake and the St. Lawrence River. That was a first for anyone on the Elite Series — two consecutive victories that is. Those wins and the Classic championship give Evers a winning streak of historic proportions.

No bass in the Evers livewell so far today. It’s windy out here in Toledo Bend, blowing at about 15 miles per hour out of the northeast.  Evers has moved to his second spot and we’re following
