John Crews is off to a hot start, both today and early in this 2020 Elite Series season. The Salem, Va., pro, coming off a second-place finish at the Elite Series opener on the St. Johns River, landed this 3-pound, 10-ounce largemouth at 5:45 a.m., 20 minutes after the official takeoff time of 5:25 a.m. And Crews had an 11-pound, 14-ounce limit in the boat at 6:35, according to BASSTrakk.
In addition to his runner-up finish at St. Johns, Crews was sixth at the Bassmaster Classic in March.
