If you catch a glimpse of John Crews opening his boat compartments, you might spot a multi-colored topwater bait hanging from the inside of a lid. The bait’s not actually part of his active arsenal, but the Elite veteran keeps it close for sentimental value.
That’s because the bait was a gift from his daughter Ivy, who hand painted it for her dad after Crews’ fellow Elite Mike Iaconelli gave her a lure art kit during one of his Ike Foundation youth events.
“I’m sure it will catch fish,” Crews said. “But I don’t want any scuffs on it.”
