Drew Cook landed his fifth keeper, a 3-pounder, at 12:14. He’s back in the lead with an unofficial total of 77-5. He began the day with an official 56-9 over the first two days and a 7-pound, 10-ounce lead over second-place Brandon Palaniuk.
“We’re almost where we need to be,” Cook said after landing the 3-pounder. “Let’s find a big one, I mean a great big one.”
Cook already has a big one in his livewell – a 7-pounder, plus a 5 1/2-pounder. But he’s got plenty of room to cull up from the 20-pound, 12-ounce limit had just past the noon hour.
