We’ve found our current Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year leader, Greg Hackney some 15 minutes from take off.
He’s basically doing what we’d expect him to in a flooded environment, which is catching them.
He has two, which really isn’t “catching them.” But it’s a good start since many of the anglers were poor mouthing the flooded and dingy conditions of the lake.
Hackney, though, grew up on the Arkansas River, where flooded and muddy were key words to a lot of good fishing days.
While he doesn’t have much weight at the moment, he’s looking for these conditions to play right into his hands and keep him in the lead of the AOY race.
