Yesterday Brandon Cobb experienced one of his most disappointing days ever on Lake Hartwell, where he’s spent more time than any other angler in the 55-man Classic field. The 32-year-old resident of nearby Greenwood, S.C., won an Elite Series event here in 2019 and was considered one of the favorites this week. He finished in 48th place on Day 1 with 10-14.
Cobb spent most of Friday looking for big fish without success. He has found it this morning, landing a 6-pound, 8-ounce bass at 8:06. Big bass on Day 1 was Steve Kennedy’s 6-7.
