Classic: First forecast

After an eventful Thursday featuring severe storms with tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail throughout the southeast, this weekend will be great for The BassMaster Classic in Knoxville.

Clouds will be on the decrease throughout the day on Friday with temperatures staying in the upper side of the cool category. Skies will be mainly cloudy at 7:30 am EDT for take-off with temperatures in the lower 50s. There is a small chance of a few leftover showers from Thursday’s storms during the morning hours, but those will dissipate by midday. Temperatures will be on the rise throughout the morning and into the afternoon hours while cloud cover and dewpoints will be on the decrease. Highs top out in the lower 60s with dewpoints dropping from the upper 40s to the lower 40s during the fishing day. Winds will be quite breezy at time out of the southwest to west at 5-15 MPH with gusts up to 20 MPH possible.

Saturday will be a much cooler day in Knoxville but sun will be back in full force with calmer winds. We’ll start off the morning in the mid-30s at take-off with mostly clear skies. Temperatures will rise into the lower 50s for the daytime high and winds will be out of the north to northwest at 5-10 MPH. Dewpoints will be dropping from the upper 20s to the lower 20s during the fishing day. So be sure you bundle up out there especially during the morning.

An absolutely beautiful day in Knoxville for the final day of the Classic. Sunny skies with maybe one or two clouds can be expected throughout the fishing day, with winds averaging 1-5 MPH out of the north to start and out of the west by midday. Temperatures start off in the lower 30s at take-off and climbing into the mid-50s by the afternoon. Dewpoints will be in the upper 20s throughout the day.
