The Toledo Bend Lake Association’s Lunker Program has not only compiled some interesting history in maintaining its list of the top 100 biggest bass caught from this lake and awarding fiberglass replicas to anyone catching and releasing an officially weighed 10-pounds-plus bass, it has produced an interesting fact from Day 1 of this tournament.
Specifically, it concerns Jason Christie’s big bass of 9 pounds, 10 ounces, which had a tag in it. The tag revealed that Christie’s fish was previously caught and entered in the lunker program on April 8, 2016, when it weighed 10.32 pounds. Local angler Kim Goodwyn caught the bass last year and received a replica.
Since the program began, the TBLA Lunker Program has awarded nearly 900 replicas of 10-pounds-plus bass caught from Toledo Bend. The lake record is 15.33 pounds. To make the low end of the top 100 now, you must catch one topping 12.12 pounds.
