Christie’s action has slowed, but he’s still catching ’em

Christie’s action has slowed a bit in the last hour but he’s still catching them. He just culled again, probably only ounces but they could be critical ounces by the end of this derby.

It’s still a mystery on what he has. We are staying well away from him and getting an accurate guess is hard to pin down.

But I still think he’s over what BASSTrakk has for him. But possibly as much as 1 1/2 pounds. Those will be huge ounces if that were the case. But only for today.

Right now it’s as calm as I’ve ever seen Mille Lacs. But the weather is going to start moving in at some point and the comfort of today will likely be replaced with some bumpy days ahead of us. How that changes things is yet to be known. But it will change things.

For Christie to make up ground on Day 1, which it appears is happening, is paramount to his run for this event.

But as said earlier, those guys who wind up in between Palaniuk and Christie will eventually be the key. There are some of those who don’t have a lot to lose or gain.

If it gets nasty weather wise, then how they react to those conditions and then perform might have more to do with the outcome as anything.

Christie knows he has to keep climbing even by ounces. Palaniuk undoubtedly knows he’s got to step up things.
