Christie throwing back 2-pounders

Christie’s throwing back 2-pounders was the right decision. He’s finished out his limit and I’m guessing has somewhere over 20 pounds and he’s still catching them.

He just lost one at the boat. Looked to be another 4-pounder. But that is the only negative thing that’s happened all morning.

Christie has been playing with us some. He caught a 3 1/2 pounder and tried to sell it to us as a 2-pounder after wrestling it in the boat.

When I called him in on it. He said “come on man, this is the Elite Series we have to low ball them.”

A minute later he caught one that was 4 pounds or better and yelled in the middle of that one that it was a 2-pounder. Of course once it was in the boat he culled with it.

He’s hooked up again. And he just culled with that one. He should have at lease 21 at the moment. And could actually be approaching that 23-pound mark from yesterday.

Besides smallmouth being hard to judge from a distance I’m not going to get a straight answer from Christie just yet.

I can’t blame him. Not being in service for BassTrakk has kept a lot of folks away from him. Jordan Lee and Brock Mosley are probably feeling the pain of too much company for the last three days, from locals and Elites.

Having this spot to himself is carrying him through and could possibly win this derby for him, not to mention gaining that one extra point in AOY.

Either way, I’m guessing he has 21 pounds at the moment, probably more. He’s certainly in the driver’s seat
