Chesapeake Bay fishing small

Chesapeake Bay is the largest inland estuary in the U.S., encompassing 4,479 square miles. But it is "fishing small" for the 107 anglers in this tournament. Two weeks ago, Stephen Browning predicted as much, when talking about how this event will be the wildcard among the final three tournaments in determining the Angler of the Year race. "I think it's going to fish extremely small," Browning said. "Guys just aren't going to be able to have anything by themselves."

That appears to be the case so far today. A whole bunch of anglers haven't gone past the mouth of the North East River. Many of those who have are bunched in a section of the Susquehanna River.
