Cherry has been up, down, up already

We’re not even halfway through the final day of the Bassmaster Classic and leader Hank Cherry has been on an emotional rollercoaster. The BASSTrakk leaderboard has been a rollercoaster as well.

Cherry, who started the day with a 4-pound,13-ounce lead, fell all the way to fourth place in the first hour on BASSTrakk, as Todd Auten, John Crews and Stetson Blaylock had early flurries.

Cherry wasn’t aware of that. But he was quite cognizant of the jerkbait-hooked bass he lost near the boat. It was a reminder of the potential 2013 Classic winner that Cherry lost on a jerkbait at Grand Lake. However, Cherry’s spirits have been on the upswing since. He’s got a limit weighing 15-4, unofficially, and he’s back in the lead with a substantial margin.
