Brett Hite started the day in seventh place. Britt Myers has no way of knowing that Hite has put 19 1/2 pounds in the boat today, but he’s got an inkling.
“I tell you whose going to be tough in this, Brett Hite,” Myers said on Bassmaster LIVE. “They’re biting a Chatterbait. I know where he’s fishing.”
Hite is a little further up the Cooper River than Myers, but they’re fishing the same types of stuff – the shallow flats that were once diked for growing rice. Hite has won a lot of money on a Chatterbait over the years, including the Elite Series tournament at Lake Seminole in 2014. Myers’ fish have come on some type of bladed jig today, as well.
