Bobby Lane was hoping to reverse his practice trend of no early morning bites. Obviously he hasn’t been able to do that today, as BASSTrakk shows him with a single 1 1/2-pounder at 10 a.m.However, if the remainder of Lane’s practice days repeat themselves, he’ll be just fine. Lane could barely contain himself about the quality of the fish he was catching in practice. Early signs of spring put life in this Florida native.
“When you see blooms on the trees, get your ass where you like to be,” said Lane in describing his game plan this week. He likes to fish shallow, and Lane found fish there in practice, but never early.
Don’t be surprised if Lane comes crashing up the leaderboard later in the day.
