Back River Reservoir

We are settling in a place called Back River Reservoir. It actually runs parallel to the Cooper River.

At the south end is a road and levee that actually cuts off this body of water on that end from the river. If that levee wasn’t there these guys could get here 20 or 30 minutes earlier, which might be nice.

But if it wasn’t there, then saltwater would seep and run through this area, which would surely degrade the bass fishing.

Regardless, we are close as the crow flys from the Cooper. We can actually hear the boats as they pass by, knowing it will be 15 to 20 minutes when they pass before they run north, then turn back south.

We’ve been hearing boats for several minutes so it won’t be long now before the Cooper River boys start settling in.
