The afternoon flurry of the first two days has yet to begin. Even so, several anglers have benefitted from the morning action.
The Toyota Bassmaster Rookie of the Year race is a case in point. The title is between Jamie Hartman (698 points), Dustin Connell (684 points) and Mark Daniels Jr. (614 points). BASSTrakk shows Daniels in second with 64 pounds, 3 ounces and Hartman in fourth with 60-6. Connell is 45th with 45-11. Should Hartman and Daniels qualify for Championship Sunday they get the bonus day to continue the charge.
BASSTrakk shows Bernie Schultz in ninth place; he is officially 54th in the standings for Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year. What all that means is Schultz needs to qualify for Championship Sunday in order to get inside the top 50.
