A slow grind for Evers

It’s been a slow grind for Evers. He’s not even come close to setting the hook in the last hour.

We are certain there will be a lot of hours like that the rest of the week but when you watch Evers you always have this idea that the fish just jump in the boat.

No jumping today. But the normally very intense angler is laid back. He’s even passed out warnings to his spectators by pointing to underwater obstructions that could damage their boats.

The last was a road sign a few inches under the water. His attitude suggests that he’s laid back and waiting for things to kick into gear.

We didn’t see him yesterday but we followed Greg Hackney in the same area yesterday during the morning hours. Hackney had the same slow morning but put together a top 11 stringer by the end of the day.

That seems to suggest these fish in this part of Texoma might be more afternoon feeders.

The only wild card to that is Casey Ashley.  He did catch them early yesterday. And he has a limit already today.
