Since his first fish catch, Kennedy’s starting pocket has started to come alive. There are shad or herring busting occasionally, and fish not far behind. He seems to suspect that the lion’s share of the resident bass population has not yet moved shallow.
As opposed to yesterday’s windy conditions, it’s dead calm in here, and still a bit chilly. The water temps in this pocket have ranged from 58.7 to 59.1. Surely some of the bass have an eye toward the bank, but there’s no level of commitment.
Kennedy, on the other hand, seems committed to a slow, steady, patient approach. He’s not stressed, not hurried, patiently trying to figure out what’s going on. it’s not his first rodeo and won’t be his last.
