The wind is definitely Kevin VanDam’s friend this morning. It’s not a bad sign when you’re catching chain pickerel at Cayuga Lake because bass are usually right there with them. For example, VanDam just put his fourth keeper in the livewell, another small one, and he’s landed three pickerel so far.
Of VanDam’s four bass, he’d like to cull at least three of them. His big one so far is about 3 1/2 pounds.
On another note, the wind is blowing from the south and I’m positioned in the boat north of Steve Bowman. It’s not an ideal situation this morning.
