Tournaments at Oneida may be won with largemouth or smallmouth bass, but the smallmouth are far more abundant. Although it isn’t regarded as a trophy bass lake, Oneida consistently gives up quality bass and plenty of them. A large one-day tournament on July 16, 2018, had a result typical for these waters. The winner sacked 19 pounds, 2 ounces, with 18 pounds taking second place. The Top 7 had 16 pounds or more, and the big bass went 5 pounds, 8 ounces.
