WHAT IS IT?
Columbia Women’s PFG Dry Tortugas Boot
WHAT SETS IT APART?
One of the biggest differences is the availability of a true wide-width option. Finding women’s fishing footwear that accommodates wider feet can be difficult, particularly when it comes to slip-on waterproof boots. The wider toe box gives your feet more room during long tournament days and provides additional space when wearing thicker socks.
Underfoot, Columbia pairs its Omni-MAX Plus system with Techlite+ foam to create a more athletic feel than a traditional flat-bottom rubber boot. Deflection domes in the heel and forefoot help absorb impact, while the Techlite+ midsole provides cushioning and energy return. That added support can make a noticeable difference after spending eight to 10 hours standing on a hard boat deck.
Traction comes from Columbia’s non-marking Omni-Grip outsole with razor siping. The small grooves help move water away from beneath the boot to maintain contact with wet fiberglass, aluminum decks, docks and boat ramps. Flex grooves in the forefoot also allow the boot to move more naturally with your foot, which is particularly useful when operating a trolling motor pedal.
The neoprene stretch collar and front and rear pull loops make the boots easy to slip on and off during early morning launches or when weather changes quickly.
HOW DO I USE IT?
The Dry Tortugas Boot is built for wet conditions around the boat, whether you’re launching before daylight, fishing through rain or spending a full tournament day on a wet deck.
Pair the boots with crew-length performance socks for the most comfortable fit. The upper collar and pull loops can rub against bare skin when worn with no-show socks.
While the outsole is designed to provide dependable traction on wet boat decks and ramps, these boots are not intended specifically for ice, frozen surfaces or extreme winter conditions.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
For female anglers with wider feet, finding a waterproof deck boot that fits comfortably without having to size up or move into men’s footwear can be difficult. The wide option is what makes the Dry Tortugas stand out. There’s enough room through the foot and toe box to stay comfortable during a full day on the water, while the Techlite+ cushioning gives the boot more of an athletic-shoe feel than a traditional rubber deck boot. The combination of comfort, waterproof protection and wet-deck traction makes it a practical option for tournament days when you could be on your feet from launch to weigh-in.
One thing to keep in mind is sock height. The collar and pull loops can rub against bare skin, so crew-length socks are a better choice than no-show socks.
