Avena displays patience

I think we have our word of the day – patience. Gerald Swindle has said patience is the key today, and Adrian Avena just put on a display of said patience. Avena set the hook on a deep fish, which then wrapped his line in a brushpile.

Avena could feel the fish, so he keep raising and lowering his rod tip, trying to pull the fish out, or let it swim out with some slack. Finally, a 1-pound, 3-ounce spotted bass swam free on 6-pound test line.

“Holy cow!” said Avena. “I can’t believe I just caught that fish. I can’t believe that sucker came out.”
