Santee Cooper shows out South Carolina B.A.S.S. Nation anglers

On February 14th, SC Bass Nation held its first trail tournament of the year at Santee Cooper lakes. Boaters and co-anglers were greeted with calm winds, warming temperatures, and extremely clear water on the famed fishery. By the time the scales had closed, three separate bags were weighed in, each totaling more than 35 lbs. James Gibbons took first prize with an astonishing 35.84, followed closely by Corey Casey, and Bennett Lawshe.

Even though water temperatures were in the upper 40’s, Santee is on fire! Gibbons stated on his social media “this place is fishing insane right now”. Recently, Santee Cooper has pumped out several mid to upper 30 lb limits in local tournaments.

The fishing will likely remain excellent for the next couple of months throughout pre-spawn and spawning seasons.  If you live in South Carolina and want to join up with SC Bass Nation, we can be found at scbassnation.com.  If you are looking for a local guide to assist you on a bass fishing trip of a lifetime, you will find none better than Corey Casey at https://www.coreycaseyfishingandguideservice.com/
