A special fishing memory

Over the winter, Chris Dreas and his son from Illinois shared an unforgettable outing on their pond.

“My son, Max and his friend were determined to go “ice fishing,” even though our private pond wasn’t quite frozen yet. It was a frigid day, and we cycled through multiple lures without any success. Just as I was about to head inside to warm up, Max suddenly yelled that he had one on.

“When he landed the fish, he was completely mesmerized by the deep, rich coloring of the bass in the cold water and didn’t even realize how big it truly was. It turned out to be the biggest bass we caught all year out of our pond. It was one of those unforgettable father-son moments — cold hands, big smiles, and a memory that will last forever.”
