2026 CHINA B.A.S.S. Nation Baping Wetland Qualifier Tournament Recap

The 2026 CHINA B.A.S.S. Nation Open Series qualifier wrapped up on May 29 at Baping Wetland International Bass Fishing Park in Guangxi, China. Hosted by Yunnan Luka Sports Technology Co., Ltd., this event marks a key milestone for official Bassmaster tournaments entering the CHINA.

Special thanks to BASS NATION for its strong support and partnership. This collaboration helps Bassmaster expand its premium tournament system to China, bringing authentic world-class outdoor bass fishing competition experiences to local anglers.
The event featured a 3-day official competition preceded by 2 days of official practice. All practice hours strictly followed the official competition schedule to ensure fair field preparation. A total of 28 teams (56 anglers) competed in this regional stop. No cuts were made on Day 1 and Day 2, while only the top 10 teams advanced to the final championship round on Day 3.
The tournament ran entirely on electric-powered bass boats and tournament rules permitted FFS electronics

Primary strategy was running wide open water searches to target post-spawn bass holding in 6 to 15 feet of water.

On-Site Carnival & Event Innovation
For the first time in China’s 20-year lure fishing industry history, this tournament combined professional bass competition with a large-scale outdoor fishing expo. Dozens of global top lure brands set up on-site booths for product displays and angler communications.
Outdoor Expo & Official Weigh-In Stage
The carnival delivered immersive outdoor experiences for spectators and local residents. Meanwhile, a standard official Bassmaster weigh-in stage was built onsite, presenting the classic official weigh-in process to all Chinese competing anglers. Every detail reflects Bassmaster’s consistent top-tier event standards and brand value worldwide.
The two hosts are Neil Liu, Director of CHINA B.A.S.S. NATION, and Mr. Wang, Founder of the RAVENCRAFT brand.
