Poche’s Carhartt Big Bass held through Day Two

A 6-pound, 4-ounce bass weighed Saturday by Edwin Evers proved to be the day’s largest fish, but it was not big enough to knock out Keith Poche’s 6-pound, 13-ounce bass from Friday as the largest so far.

Good luck for Bobby

Bobby Lane is fishing the Bassmaster Classic on the Red River with a small black scarf in his pocket, the flight scarf of a fallen U.S. soldier.

Alton at 12 pounds

Alton Jones finally worked his way back to us, where we could have a brief conversation. He estimates his weight at "12 pounds and change."

Excitement surrounds Jones

It has gotten a lot more lively than even Alton Jones expected in here. The wind has picked up and he just upgraded with a three-pounder. Meanwhile, a wild hog came tromping along the bank behind Jones, not anywhere close enough to be a threat.

Guess Alton’s weight

It's official - we have no idea what Alton Jones' total weight is at this time. He just caught a 2 1/2 pounder and culled a fish. We thought he only had four in the livewell, but he was out of our sight for about 30 minutes this morning and, obviously, caught a fish then.

Bassmaster Classic in the shower

We're trying a new thing at the Bassmaster Classic this year. It's the War Room, a live video stream that runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Jones strikes again

It's closing in on 11 o'clock, when Alton Jones says this place "comes alive," and he just put his third bass in the livewell.
