The Sulphur Springs public restrooms are actually composed of two-way mirrors, so when you step inside to take care of business you can see everything going on around you. Strange, but true.

The centerpiece of the square, however, is the amazing Hopkins County Courthouse, which was built in 1895. The town lights the huge stone edifice at night, with constantly changing colors playing across the red granite.

The town square also contains an extensive War Veterans Memorial, which includes a statue of a soldier. As with the courthouse, the memorial is lighted at night.

The Heritage Park includes 11 acres of historical buildings from around Hopkins County. Included is the D.T. Lake Country Store built around 1870, and Atkins House (at left) that was built in the late 1870s and is thought to have been the first brick structure in Sulphur Springs.

Several old wooden structures are also included. The large building is the Smith-Gregg House built in 1843, while the two smaller buildings to the left are a log school house and built in the 1850s and a log cabin built in 1850.

Just down the road from downtown Sulphur Springs is the fascinating Southwest Dairy Museum. You can take photos next to the two huge dairy cow statues before going into the museum, which is designed to resemble on old dairy barn.
