Upon our arrival, we were able to talk to several local anglers as well as the owners of the store, Chris and Chuck Perkins.

“The water conditions are going to be muddy, so everyone is on the red craw baits,” said Chuck Perkins. “These lipless baits will be a factor in and around the grass on the lake.”
“The bite at the dam will be all about the swimbaits,” said Chris as he showed us one of their best sellers this week. “There will be plenty of smallmouth caught on these.”

“Another bait that has been really popular in the last week is the Frittside from Berkley,” said Perkins. “Throwing these around the horseshoe in the rocks is fantastic. It dives about three to five feet.”
