Upon the start of my 1-hour journey to this area, I captured some nature that inhabit the Harris Chain. With so much habitat on these lakes, the nature is abundant.

The Dora Canal connects lake Dora and Lake Eustis. In 1951, this canal was uses to reshoot river scenes for the now-classic movie, African Queen, starring Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn.

After crossing Lake Eustis and Lake Beauclair, we caught up with KJ Queen in the Apopka Beauclair Canal.

This is a 6-mile span of canal connecting Lake Beauclair and Lake Apopka. KJ Queen is fishing the bank of this canal searching for bedding fish.

After a trying for a while, Queen finally gets one of the bucks to bit.

This is fish number 2 for Queen, giving him a decent start. The problem is, the 2 in his boat are the bucks. The 2 females are still on the bed, and about twice the size. He is having trouble getting them to bite.

John Cox is also exploring this canal. Being one of the best shallow water anglers, means this must be a good area for the spawn bite.

Cox has already put a few fish in the livewell, one being a 7 pounder, so he is off to a good start.

After the bite slows down later in the day, Cox decides to try something new in some shady areas.

I finished up following John Cox earlier in the afternoon. He is well on his way to staying in the cut after tomorrow. He continues to keep the trolling motor on high in search for those shallow bedding bass.
