What’s your favorite family vacation, ever?
I’ve had a lot of great ones with my family, but for me personally it has to be the annual trips we made to the Pocono Mountains when I was a kid. We fished, cooked out, dug for bottles and generally had a great time.

There’s no way I would have developed my love of fishing if it wasn’t for those trips with my family.

What’s your favorite ink bottle in your collection?
As of right now I have about 200 on display and another 200 in storage. As you can imagine, I have more than one that means a lot to me. But, if I have to pick one it would be my Pontil Umbrella bottle. It dates back to around 1860, but it’s not all that valuable.

My uncle got me started collecting old bottles when I was about 12 years old. I dug the Pontil out of an old privy up here when I was in my late teens. That’s special, and it was the one that got me started as an ink bottle specialist.

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream, and what’s your favorite place to eat it?
It’s pecan vanilla, and I love to eat a double dip cone while taking long, romantic walks on the beach at sunset with Becky.

What was your favorite job before you became a pro bass angler?
I worked as a DJ back when I was in school. It was really cool. I was able to entertain people, party and have a good time all in one night. I absolutely loved it. And, believe it or not, it paid good money.

It’s likely that I’d be doing that now if I wasn’t fishing.

What’s your favorite memory of (or with) Becky?
On one of our first dates I took her fishing on the Schuylkill River (photo from a fishing trip in 2016). We caught some smallmouth and a few catfish. We really had a good time. I don’t think Becky had ever been fishing before, at least not more than once or twice. She did really well. I was impressed.

But, the best part of the day was when a bird pooped on her. That’s good luck, you know. Right then and there, I knew I was going to try to marry her. I’m laughing while I tell the story. It was a great day. I’ll never forget it.
