It started with a massive hook set, followed by absolute chaos as slack wrapped around the tip of Lee Livesay rod. What happened next was truly remarkable. Lee was unable to use his reel so he began handling over 50’ of line in as this massive Florida Largemouth did everything possible to throw the lure. Lee maintained his composure, overcame adversity and was rewarded with this 6lber! You simply had to see it to believe it...

Bernie Schultz has worked this bass two hours. He found the sweet spot on the bed and it was lights out . Got it to the boat on light line so it was quite nerve wracking.

Luke Palmer just set the hook on another solid fish to cull up another couple pounds. BASSTrakk has him at around 16 1/2lbs. I’d say he has closer to 18 though. Regardless, he’s doing exactly what he needs to do to make the weekend cut, and he’s still got plenty of time to do some upgrading.

Palmer picks up his first fish of the day relatively quickly after we sit down on our first stop. We’re in an area he finished his day in yesterday and got a lot of bites, so he’s hoping to camp out for awhile and upgrade throughout the day as the bigger females move into this area in the afternoon.
