This weekend the 6th annual Toyota Bonus Bucks Owners Tournament kicks off on Missouri’s famed Table Rock Lake. This has to be the best no-entry fee tournament in the country, with a $5,000 prize for first place and payouts for the top 31 finishers. Toyota rolls out the red carpet with free meals, apparel and gear. Plus competitors get a meet and greet with the Team Toyota Elite Series Anglers.
Table Rock Lake is an impoundment of the White River in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri. At full pool the lake covers about 50,000 acres and has 750 miles of shoreline for anglers to decipher. This time of year it is common to see anglers fishing deep with a football jig or a drop shot, or fishing shallow with reaction baits like topwaters, spinnerbaits or shallow-diving crankbaits.
Last year nearly 300 anglers from 27 states traveled to the Owners Tournament. It’s too late to register now, but if you missed it this year, start planning for the Toyota Owners Tournament in 2018. Here’s a look at what the anglers will experience at this weekend’s event:
FORMAT
• Two-person team – One member of team must be a registered, eligible Bonus Bucks member and team boat must be towed to event with eligible Toyota tow vehicle (2013 or newer Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, Sequoia, FJ Cruiser or 4Runner)
• Single day of competition
• Total weight, five-bass limit
• Amateur teams only — Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour pro anglers are not eligible to participate
PRIZES
- First place: $5,000
- Payouts for top 31 finishers
- Carhartt Big Bass receives a $1,000 prize package
- Free gift bag for the first 200 anglers
