Tom Jackson Public Boat Ramp closed for 2020 Bassmaster Classic

GUNTERSVILLLE, Ala. — The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries has granted permission to B.A.S.S. to close the Tom Jackson Public Boat Ramp on Lake Guntersville during the week of the 2020 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk.

The ramp and associated parking areas will be closed from Sunday, March 1 at 9 p.m. through Monday, March 8 at 11:59 p.m. for the Classic. The Tom Jackson Ramp is located at Civitan Park, Guntersville, AL 35976.

Alternate ramps are available for the public to launch boats on Lake Guntersville. They include the following:

The 2020 edition of the Bassmaster Classic will pit 53 bass anglers against each other as they compete for a purse of over $1 million. The three-day competition and Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo, which will be held March 6-8, 2020, will attract thousands of fans to Lake Guntersville and Birmingham. Lake Guntersville first hosted the Classic in 1976 and again in 2014, but has hosted 23 major-B.A.S.S. events, making it one of the most visited fisheries in B.A.S.S. tournament history.

Daily launches will take place at 7 a.m. from Civitan Park, with a host of free, fan-friendly events happening in the park each day.
