Day 1 of practice was one of the few times I've fished in an absolute blizzard. Our predictions of this cold winter Classic are coming true.
At the Classic qualifier level there isn't as much difference between these guys' fishing skills as you might think. Longtime competitors didn't get here by accident. You don't survive in this business if you can't fish.
Today was the last practice day before competition starts on Friday. I had a pretty good practice, all things considered. At least I accomplished some of the things I wanted to get done. That's not to say it's getting much better out there, though. It's still really tough.
