Promises. Promises. Promises.

My challenge for you in the coming year is to make a fishy (literally) resolution for the ensuing 365 days. I want you to make a promise that you will set aside some extra time to learn something new that will improve your bass fishing success.

I am nuts

I've been in Columbus enjoying Christmas with Tracey and friends. It's been a great experience. We don't spend as much time together as I would like, so this year has been special.

How-To

Winter tactics for flipping

Let me say right up front that for most of the country — certainly the northern half, anyway — the dead of winter isn't the best time for flipping and pitching a bait. It's just too darn cold.

Making history

When I read that legendary bass angler Roland Martin will be competing in the 2011 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Opens, I couldn't help but smile.

Santa was good to me

Anglers who fish for a living rarely get tackle at Christmas because we tend to have everything we need or buy it as we need it. But, I got lucky this year, as a couple of gifts put a smile on my face.
