No tour-level angler wants to be at the Classic as a non-competitor. It's just not in our DNA. Unfortunately, that was my role at this year's event.
Randy Howell said he's happy to call his Bassmaster Classic win a miracle during his recent twitter chat with fans.
Paul Mueller is not disappointed at all by his second-place finish in the Classic. He was honored to represent the Connecticut B.A.S.S. Nation so well.
If you fish from a boat, you've probably got several batteries in it. They take up space, add weight to your rig, and the best ones are not cheap. It's important to get value from them.

A lot has changed since I wrote my first column for Bassmaster.com. I guess you could say that is an understatement. Randy has won the Classic, and my world has done a complete 360!
You know, a positive mindset and confidence in your game plan goes a long way in guiding a fisherman through the pressures and challenges of tournament competition. From my recent experience at the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic, I can tell you that these things also help you deal with the letdowns that are just part of life.
Every angler dreams of catching bass after giant bass like Randy Howell did on Sunday, becoming the 2014 Bassmaster Classic champ!
Randy Howell is our new champion. Bass fishing couldn’t have a better one, and he couldn’t have a better family to support him.
