Open position at B.A.S.S.: Director of Sales


On the B.A.S.S (Bassmaster) Business Development Team, the Director of Sales will be responsible for driving overall sales through Sponsorships, TV and Media advertising as well as overall customer driven programs. We’re scaling our Sales Development team in Birmingham to help Industry leaders recognize how Bassmaster can impact their sales and customer experience. As the Director of Sales, you will prospect, qualify, and generate opportunities to support the overall growth of the business. This position will report directly to the Executive Vice President.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES, including but not limited to the following:

  • Research and acquire new accounts
  • Utilize lead generation tools such as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and other lead generation platforms
  • Partner with internal departments (Operations, Marketing, TV Production, and Editorial)  to generate leads
  • Have specific daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly pipeline metrics to help achieve sales goals
  • Develop, present, and implement plans for acquiring new business and traction in your assigned strategy
  • Monitor and deliver performance metrics to individual customers
  • Develop new Sponsorship, Television, Digital and Print advertising campaigns based on account needs
  • Ability to navigate multi-platform sales programs
  • Own the process from introduction to execution of contract
  • Manage Post Sale support for each client

  • BA/BS degree (or relevant work experience)
  • Experience working with Ad agencies
  • 2-4 years of sales experience, with a history of overachieving targets, in sponsorships, advertising or media sales
  • Strong communication skills over both phone and email
  • Shown creative problem-solving approach
  • Desire to move up within a sales organization
  • Interest in Bassmaster’s history, culture and fan enthusiasm

Additional job skills:

  • Prior exposure to a CRM tool 
  • Proven ability to influence others and create a sense of urgency
  • Historical performance in managing probability
