One-Boat Network unlocks new communication between Humminbird and Minn Kota

RACINE, Wis., June 29, 2018 – Minn Kota® and Humminbird® announce the creation of the One-Boat Network™ an integrated system which unlocks new communication opportunities between Humminbird and Minn Kota products, including Talon shallow water anchors, to help anglers find, stay on and catch fish.

Humminbird and Minn Kota products are respectively best-in-class in locating fish and fish-holding structure and enabling anglers to navigate to fishing spots and stay in place effortlessly. Now, with the One-Boat Network, anglers can get the most out of their Humminbird fish finder, Minn Kota trolling motor and Minn Kota Talon shallow water anchor through a networked system designed to give anglers a more streamlined, user-friendly experience across all products.

“The One-Boat Network is the ultimate reflection of what is possible when the best fishing electronics and boat positioning products are able to communicate with one another,” said Serena Petri, director of marketing for Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics. “We are building a networked ecosystem that allows anglers to spend less time worrying about boat control and navigation and more time focused on finding and catching more fish.”

When One-Boat Network products talk to each other, they can navigate the boat automatically and reposition or anchor effortlessly. The Humminbird fish finder can tell the Minn Kota trolling motor right where to go and then tell the Minn Kota Talon right where to anchor.

The ability to network fish finders, trolling motors and shallow water anchors makes all the technology available to anglers today work harder and smarter. i-Pilot® Link™, a GPS trolling system available on Minn Kota Ultrex™, Ulterra™, Terrova®, Riptide® Ulterra and Riptide Terrova trolling motors is a pinnacle element of the One-Boat Network. The i-Pilot Link system utilizes GPS accuracy for Spot-Lock, recording paths, following depth contours, automatically navigating to your favorite spots and controlling speed and steering. In addition, i-Pilot Link allows your trolling motor, fish finder and shallow water anchor to share information, putting the One-Boat Network into action in freshwater or saltwater applications.

“Whether you’re fishing a tournament or taking your kids out for a day on the water, maximizing your time on the water is important,” said 4-time Bassmaster Classic Champion Kevin VanDam. “The One-Boat Network makes me so much more efficient when I’m on the water and it will do the same for all anglers.”

Compatible Humminbird models include second generation Bluetooth® HELIX® models (G2N) and SOLIX® models. These models are equipped with GPS and Bluetooth communication, as well as AutoChart® Live and Humminbird’s MEGA Imaging™, the first Down and Side Imaging® technology to enter the megahertz range with performance that’s nearly three times greater than traditional 455 kHz frequencies.

Compatible Minn Kota motors include the Ultrex, Ulterra and Terrova equipped with Bluetooth-enabled i-Pilot Link system. Minn Kota Talon shallow water anchors with Bluetooth connectivity round out the One-Boat Network and can be controlled from the Humminbird fish finder or i-Pilot Link remote. The i-Pilot Link remote features touchscreen controls, offering steering from anywhere on the boat, mark waypoints, Spot-Lock, deploy your Minn Kota Talons and more.
