Fred Roumbanis and his wife, Julie, marked their fifth wedding anniversary Friday. A Classic competitor who is well-focused, Roumbanis still was anxious to not let the significance of the day be forgotten.
“It means more to me than anything,” he told a reporter. “Ever since she came into my life, I’ve been catching fish like I never caught fish before.”
Roumbanis, by the way, is an unofficial poster pro of the Classic. He’s on many of the huge banners and billboards splashed around the Shreveport-Bossier City area.
“On Toledo Bend, someone captured me on camera, smiling during a hook set. I guess the smile is why they picked that image to use,” he said.
