Kayak: Morgan breaks 100-inch mark on Fork after Day 1

ALBA, Texas — Garrett Morgan of Conway, Ark., leads Day 1 of the Yamaha Rightwaters Bassmaster Kayak Series powered by TourneyX at Lake Fork with a five-bass total of 102.5 inches.

Fishing out of an Old Town PDL kayak, Morgan caught eight fish, with his top five measuring 22, 21.75, 20, 19.5 and 19.25 inches.

Rolando Nandin of San Antonio, Texas, is second with 99.5 inches. He anchored his total with a 24.5-inch bass.

In third place, Chris Longshore of Hastings, Neb., tallied 97 inches.

The field of 150 anglers caught and released 196 bass.

Competition concludes Sunday with a 6:30 a.m. CT launch and lines in at 7 (after check-in via TourneyX). Lines out is 3 p.m. with the awards presentation to follow.
