During the week of June 24th, 52 tournament hopefuls will descend on Lay Lake to pre-fish for the BASSMASTERS Classic operated by B.A.S.S. Competition will be fierce as the top anglers in the country try their best to take home a share of $678,000.00 in cash and prizes from the July Classic in Birmingham.
Among those who make up the field will be members of the Chevy Truck Pro Staff. This elite group consists of some of the most well known names in the sport and it is a good bet that at least a couple of them will finish high on the money list.
On Thursday night June 27, 2002, you will have a chance to meet these guys and talk to them personally. Pro Staff members Tommy Biffle, Tom Mann, Jr., Larry Nixon and Kevin VanDam will gather at Serra Chevrolet Olds at 40941 US Hwy 280 in Sylacauga, Ala. for "Meet the Pro Night." From 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, these top name pros will be available for autographs, fishing tips, and just general conversation. It is a great chance to interact with some of the top figures in bass fishing and get to know them a little.
The pros will have their tournament-rigged Chevy Suburbans on display and will be glad to discuss trailering and safety tips with you. They all drive more than 50,000 miles a year on the tournament trail, pulling heavy bass boats under all kinds of driving conditions. As a result, they get more trailering experience yearly than many of us in a lifetime.
So mark your calendar now for Thursday night June 27th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Invite a friend and plan to come early. You don't get these opportunities often and you can bet there'll be a crowd. If you are lucky, you might even win one of the 11 door prizes that will be given away starting at 6:30.
