ESPN2’s The Bassmasters with 2009 Classic

ESPN2's The Bassmasters with 2009 Bassmaster Classic Champion Saturday

ESPN2's The Bassmasters on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. ET will relive the action of the 2009 Bassmaster Classic with ESPN Outdoors personalities Tommy Sanders and Mark Zona, along with an in-studio appearance by Classic champion Skeet Reese of Auburn, Calif., in the 2009 Bassmaster Classic Highlight Show.

The Bassmasters will take a look back at the Classic on the Red River out of Shreveport-Bossier City, La., where Reese bested 50 other competitors, including 2008 Toyota Tundra Women's Bassmaster Tour Angler of the Year Kim Bain-Moore of Alabaster, Ala., who made history as the first woman to compete in the Bassmaster Classic. Reese, the 2007 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year, will share the tactics that led him to his first Classic crown with a three-day total of 54 pounds, 13 ounces, edging 2003 Bassmaster Classic winner Mike Iaconelli of Runnemede, N.J., by 11 ounces.

ESPN Outdoors Saltwater Sunday returns with four fresh episodes, highlighted by Spanish Fly's conclusion of its four-part series from the Seychelles Islands and the remote Atolls of the Indian Ocean on ESPN2 at 9 a.m. ESPN Outdoors personality and host Jose Wejebe brings the series to a climactic close when he and the crew must choose a fishing location as a tropical depression approaches.

Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing features the fabled cobia run of the Broad River out of Hilton Head Island, S.C., on Sunday, March 1, at 7:30 a.m. Host George Poveromo and local guide Jim Clark review the tricks to catch cobia. The Broad River is best known as one of the largest cobia spawns in the United States, typically starting in April-May.

The Best of Offshore Adventures with host Chris Fischer takes viewers back to Costa Rica, where the baitfish-filled waters invite some close encounters with yellowfin tuna and sharks. The 8 a.m. show highlights cameraman Rich Christensen's Offshore Adventures career, which has included some outrageous underwater moments, including a shark attack.

Cyril Chauquet, host of ESPN2's Fishing Adventurer, heads to the tundra of the Canadian North on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. to fish for arctic char and trophy brook trout that have returned from the saltwater of Ungava Bay. This week's episode closes with Chauquet catching a large, hooked-jaw, male brook trout.
