Classic champ DeFoe to have heart surgery

As Ott DeFoe won the 2019 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, he began to notice that he was out of breath more often than usual.

He was initially diagnosed with bronchitis, but his problems did not go away. After more tests, including an echocardiogram, he was diagnosed with a torn mitral valve in his heart. The good news is that he can have minimally invasive surgery to repair the tear.

B.A.S.S. wishes Ott and his family the best and hopes for a quick recovery. Below is the video where he announced his news to his Facebook fans.
